Ukhrul, October 26 2017:
Chief Regional Manager, Bijay Joshi of UBI Silchar region, today visited Ukhrul to take stock of the banking performances of UBI branches at the district .
He visited both the UBI Bank at Viewland and Mini Secretariat branch at Hamlei-khong, Ukhrul .
Considering the present shortage of cash at the bank, the CRM assured that the problem will be adequately addressed to within the first week of November .
B Joshi then interacted with the Branch Manager to get detailed reports in order to improve banking services at the district .
During the meeting the Branch Manager highlighted the immediate problem, which is cash shortage at the bank resulting in limiting the daily transaction or withdrawal from the bank .
For more than a month smooth functioning of the bank has been severely jeopardised either due to cash shortage or technical issues such as network problems .
Surprisingly the CRM was not aware of the customers’ grievances and complaints .
The ignorance of the CRM about the grievances of the customers is largely due to the failure of the employees of the bank at Ukhrul to note down the complaints of the customers .
The CRM admitted that the complaints were genuine and assured better services in the future .
He then asked the bank officers of Ukhrul branch, to be more responsible while discharging their duties, immediately report to the higher authority for intervention in case of any complaints or problems to address the issues in time .
Speaking to the bank staff, the CRM made it clear that satisfaction of the customers should be the top priority and cordial relationships should be maintained without any reservation .
In response to a query, the CRM said that with the weather becoming clearer, remittance will be sent within the first week of November to ease the cash shortage in the district.
The problem of staff shortage will be looked into too he said and added that recruitment of new staff is in the process.
