In the cultural session, various folk songs and dances commemorating festivals ranging from seed sowing to harvesting during the forefathers' age were performed.
What makes the event so colourful and glittering is that every enthusiast man and woman folk would drag out and perform with traditional ornaments like Shungkha (headgear), khongshiang (necklace), kushi (bangles), hokiang and kiangjing usually made of bronze and cane to tie on both legs of men folk, shrute (cloth wrapped around the waist of women folk).

Women were learnt to be not far behind their male counterparts when a lady teacher named Serino took the stage and unfurled the qualities a woman is bestowed with in various fields.
Serino urged the crowd saying a society must welcome the important role of woman and they must be allowed to articulate their will in the decision making body.
Being annoyed with the poor status of woman's role in the church Serino strongly questioned why the church is not giving an amicable space to women folk and she claimed the position of deaconess to be unconditionally incorporated in the church instead of the lone existing deacon post to ensure its effective functioning.
Serina said she couldn't help seeing all these women who have gathered with a child on the back and another in their hand.
At a special reception, All Manipur Students' Union and National Identity Protection Committee were pleased to present traditional shawls like Leirumphi and Iyungphi to few elders of the village.

Interestingly, in a bid to ensure the event a-total recall of their forefathers' culture, the entire programme was conducted in their own dialect (Lairam Khullen).
Lairam Khullen village is said to be as old as 700 years and it is presently inhabited by around 80 households most of whom are dependent on jhum cultivation.
The people have shifted to 30 villages mainly due to communication and transport system which are in pathetic condition.
Of these villages, they have occupied and compactly inhabited five villages namely Mumlou Ringpam, Maryland, Soland, Shangpuiram and Shangreiphung.
