In addition to organising an awareness campaign on protection of wildlife and bird flu today at Phubala under the aegis of the Deputy Conservator of Forest and Wildlife, Forest officials also conducted a survey to find out if there was any case of unnatural death of migratory birds taking shelter in the State.
A team of officials led by Deputy Conservator of Forest and Wildlife L Muhindro, RO Th Bimol and RO I Gopeshwar made a survey in the surrounding of Loktak lake to check if there was any case of unnatural death of migratory birds.
The Forest officials informed that before the onset of winter season last year, an Ura was found dead in Ibohal farm located near Keibul Lamjao National Park.
