State logs 28 Covid positive cases, 2 deaths

Imphal, November 26 2021:
The daily test positive rate of the State has risen marginally to 1.9 per cent as compared to 1.4 percent updated yesterday with the detection of 28 fresh Covid cases in the last 24 hours.
According to COVID-19 Common Control Room, the new cases which include 1 CAPF personnel were confirmed at RIMS (1), JNIMS (2) and other testing centres (25) while the positive cases from the general population are from Imphal East (11), Imphal West (9), Bisnhupur (1), Kakching (3), Tengnoupal (1) and Ukhrul (2) .
Among the districts, Tengnoupal registered the highest test positivity rate with 9.1 percent as one of the 11 samples sent for confirmation returned Covid positive and it is followed by Kakching (5.6 per cent), Ukhrul (5.1 per cent), Imphal East (3.6 percent), Imphal West (2 percent) and Bishnupur (1.3 percent) .
During the same period, at least 2 Covid deaths were reported from Imphal West.
Both the deceased were unvaccinated.
With this figure, the death toll has mounted to 1,968 .
District-wise, Imphal West remains at the top of the death chart with 657 deaths and it is followed by Imphal East (469 deaths), Bishnupur (192) .
At the bottom lies Pherzawl with no cases of Covid death so far.
With the discharge of 39 persons today, the recovery rate has improved slightly to 97.89 percent against 97.88 percent on Thursday.
The active cases, on the other hand, stand at 674 .
Meanwhile, the State Government had on November 25 last, distributed 482 D-type and 91 B-type oxygen cylinders to different healthcare facilities in Manipur and also administered 4,617 Covid vaccine doses.
Till yesterday, at least 54.46 per cent of the State's total population has received 1st dose of Covid vaccine while only a meagre 36.41 percent has been fully vaccinated against the disease.
