MLA Radheshyam prepares duty schedules of doctors

In order to mitigate some of the inconveniences being faced by people of Hiyanglam AC, MLA Dr Radheshyam launched an initiative for ensuring visit by doctors to three Health and Wellness Centres and a Primary Health Sub Centre (PHSC) located in the constituency on specific days.
Speaking at the launch programme of the initiative held at Health and Wellness Centre, Langmeidong on Friday, MLA Radheshyam pointed out that treatment for non-communicable diseases only will be done by community health officer at the Health and Wellness Centres.
As Hiyanglam AC is huge, people find difficulty in visiting hospital for treatment.
In order to address some of the problems faced by the people, discussions with government officials concerned and CMO Kakching were carried out so that doctors could visit the Health and Wellness Centres and the PHSC at least twice a week, he said.
Radheshyam informed that a doctor will remain on duty in the OPD from 10 am to 4pm every Monday and Friday at Health and Wellness Centre, Langmeidong, on every Tuesday and Saturday at Arong Tera Health and Wellness Centre and two Thursdays each month at Elangkhanpokpi Yangdong Health and Wellness Centre and Mayeng Lamjao PHSC.
The programme was attended by Chief Medical Officer Kakching Dr Thaodem Rajen, Primary Health Centre Hiyanglam MO in-charge Dr Elangbam Kiran Singh and doctor who will sit in OPD at Health and Wellness Centre, Mayeng Lamjao PHSC Dr Kh Krishnananda, community health officer, nurses and ASHA workers among others.
