Return of four NPP MLAs to BJP led coalition Govt...Haven't decided on portfolios yet: Biren

Chief Minister N Biren has stated that he has not received any information or suggestion from the Centre regarding the portfolios to be given to the four NPP MLAs who recently quit the BJP-led coalition and pledged support to Opposition Congress, only to revert their decision.
Speaking to media persons before inaugurating a public parking space built over Naga Nullah, Biren said that the portfolios to be given to the NPF Ministers have not been decided yet.

After holding talks with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP president JP Nadda at Delhi in the presence of NPP president Conrad Sangma and NEDA convenor JP Nadda, the four NPP MLAs namely; L Jayantakumar, Y Joykumar, Letpao Haokip and N Kayisii returned to Imphal yesterday.
They also submitted a letter to the Governor expressing their renewed support to the BJP-led Government.
Biren said that the portfolios to be given to the NPP Ministers would be decided after talking with BJP Central leaders.
Informing that he talked with Himanta Biswa Sarma, Conrad Sangma and Y Joykumar yesterday, Biren said that he would go to Delhi shortly to discuss about the portfolios to be given to the NPP Ministers.
The recent 'minor' political events were not unnatural and it would not affect the Government in any manner, Biren said.
Meanwhile, NPP MLAs and office bearers of the party held a meeting today and discussed about the prevailing political situation.
But none of them disclosed the terms of agreement under which the NPP MLAs agreed to extend their support to the BJP-led coalition Government after first walking out.
Meanwhile to ease traffic congestion in Thangal Keithel, the Chief Minister inaugurated a public parking space for the residents of Thangal Keithel at Naga Nullah today.
Speaking to media persons, the Chief Minister stated that the parking space can accommodate around 116 four wheeler vehicles and a total of 106 vehicles owners have been identified from Thangal Keithel area whose vehicles would be parked in the allotted space at Naga Nullah.
He informed that those shopkeepers who reside in nearby places should be dropped and picked up by drivers or family members to their respective shops and no permanent parking will be allowed in Thangal Keithel and Paona Keithel areas.
The Chief Minister maintained that for the residents of Paona Keithel, a temporary parking space will be allotted near Johnstone School and it would be inaugurated soon.
He also informed that a multi-storey parking space will be constructed under the Smart City plan in Imphal area.
He appealed vehicle owners of Thangal Keithel area to park their vehicles in the parking area as allotted by MAHUD.
Yaiskul AC MLA Th Satyabrata, Commissioner (MAHUD) Nidhi Kesar-wani, Director (MAHUD) Th Harikumar Singh, Councillors of Imphal Municipal Corporation and others attended the function.
