Death count in single digit continues since August 16 with 4
Lowest spike of 270 cases logged since Apr 28

Imphal, August 23 2021:
With just 2441 samples tested in the last 24 hours, the number of new cases was also just 270, marking a day of very low testing and low detection of new cases.
During the same period of time Manipur also recorded 4 deaths, which is the same as August 22 .
The figure of 270 logged in the last 24 hours is the lowest recorded since April 28 this year.
This is also the lowest number of tests conducted since August 16 when 2183 tests were conducted.
However the daily positivity rate in the last 24 hours is 11.1 percent, which is not amongst the lowest in the month of August.
The lowest positivity rate recorded in the current month was on August 17, when Manipur recorded 9.29 percent.
With 270 more added to the tally, the total number of positive cases logged in the State so far is 1,11,212 including 4,090 Central security personnel.
During the same time span, Manipur reported 4 more deaths, the same as on August 22 .
Quoting the State Level COVID-19 Deaths Audit Committee, the COVID-19 Common Control Room said that the deceased persons belonged to Imphal West (2), Ukhrul (1) and Kakching (1) .
Two of the deceased had co-morbidities and one had received the first dose of the vaccine, said the COVID-19 Common Control Room.
With the addition of four more deaths, the total number of deaths in the State is 1755 .
The 270 persons who returned positive results included one Central security personnel and out of the 269 civilians, women accounted for 133 .
The positive status of the 270 persons were confirmed during testing at RIMS (12), JNIMS (13), District Hospitals (119) and other testing centres (126) .
The 269 civilians who returned positive results are from Imphal East (75), Imphal West (78), Thoubal (12), Bishnupur (14), Kakching (15), Ukhrul (19), Churachandpur (9), Chandel (5), Senapati (13), Tamenglong (10), Tengnoupal (2), Noney (8), Pherzawl (4) and Kangpokpi (5) .
Necessary measures such as containment and contact tracing have been taken up, said the COVID-19 Common Control Room.
On the other hand 554 persons were discharged during the last 24 hours from home isolation (200), RIMS (20), JNIMS (16), CCCs (152) and CHICs (166) .
The cumulative number of recovered cases now stands at 1,05,751 including 4062 Central security personnel.
The number of active cases has also gone down to 3706 which is inclusive of 23 Central security personnel.
The recovery rate has improved to 95.08 percent.
A total of 1040 vaccines were administered on August 22 to take the total number of vaccinated people to 14,80,703 including 3,03,944 who have received their second dose.
In the last 24 hours a total of 1461 D Type Oxygen cylinders and 344 B Type Oxygen cylinders were despatched to different health centres across the State.
The number of beds available as on August 23 is RIMS (General beds-138, ICU-16), JNIMS (General beds-27, ICU-4), Iland Hospital, free of cost (General beds-8), MSF, Little Flower School, free of cost (ICU-7), CMC Koirengei (General beds-27, ICU-6), Iboyaima Hospital, Singjamei (General beds-20, ICU-3), Jivan Hospital, Kakching (General beds-16, ICU-6), Shija Hospital (General beds-25, ICU- 22), Raj Medicity (General beds-62, ICU-16) .
