Manipur inches closer to three figure spike with 94

Manipur is inching towards the three figure mark with 94 testing positive for Coronavirus today including 11 who returned by air from different cities.
On the other hand, the 29 year old non-local scrap dealer who passed away at Thoubal after getting infected with COVID-19 has been added to the list of deceased in the State.
He passed away yesterday at Thoubal District Hospital.
With the latest addition, the number of deaths in Manipur has been officially put at 378 .
According to a statement issued by the Additional Director of Health and spokesperson of COVID-19 Control Room, Dr Sasheekumar Mangang, the positive persons were tested at JNIMS (23), RIMS (14), Imphal West RAT (2), RD Wing (1), Raj Medicity (9), Shija Hospital (10), Advance Hospital (1), Jivan Hospital (1), CMC (2), Babina Diagnostics (15), Escent Diagnostics (10), Thoubal RAT (2), Bishnupur (3) and Tamenglong (1) .
The total figure of 94 include 11 who returned from different parts of the country by air today.
Out of the total 146 air passengers who were tested, 11 were found positive, said a statement issued by the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP) .
Altogether four persons were discharged during the last 24 hours and they were all under home isolation.
With the addition of 94 more positive cases, the cumulative number of positive cases has now gone up to 29,869 (general population-26,383 and Central security personnel-3486) .
The cumulative number of recovered cases is 29,106 (general population 25,665 and Central security personnel 3441) .
The number of active cases now stands at 385 (general population 344 and Central security personnel 41) .
The recovery rate has seen a slight dip and now stands at 97.44 pc .
The COVID-19 Common Control Rooms has also asked passengers who arrived at Imphal on April 17 by Indigo flight 6E-2615 in rows 3-11, Air Asia flight 15-783 in rows 3-11 and 22-28 and Air India flight AI 889 in rows 7-13 to inform the control room (18003453818) or respective District Surveillance Officers immediately.
On the other hand, the total number of persons vaccinated is 110614 .
The control room has also urged all those above 45 years to get vaccinated at vaccine centres of RIMS, JNIMS, district hospitals, CHCs, PHCs and select private hospitals.
