Nurses' contributions reverberate on Nurses Day

Imphal, May 12 2011:
The nursing staff of Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) celebrated Nurses Day at RIMS Jubilee hall today.
RIMS Director Prof Dr S Sekharjit and RIMS Medical Superintendent Prof Dr H Shanti were the chief guest and president of the celebration respectively.
RIMS Deputy Director M Chandramani, RIMS Nursing Superintendant Th Chinglembi and RIMS Assistant Nursing Superintendant Ch Subadani were also present at the occasion as guests of honour.
Speaking at occasion, RIMS Director Prof Dr S Sekharjit called on the nurses of the State to follow the ideals and footprints of Florence Nightingale on whose birthday the Nurses Day is being celebrated all over the world.
Saying that there is still shortage of nurses in the State, Dr Sekharjit said that there is need to induct more nurses in the State medical facilities.
Reminding the nurses that their duty is to tender care and love to patients, Dr Sekharjit urged the nurses to work with dedication and sacrifice.

Nursing Superintandent Th Chinglembi advised the nurses to be sensible and caring while discharging duties.
She said that the nurses must leave behind all her personal matters at home and give full concentration on patient care while she is with the patient.
The Nursing Superintandent further said that nurses must not discriminate between the patients.
Every patient must be given equal care and love for their fast recovery, she added.
