3 more succumb, 44 test positive

Imphal, November 05 2021:
Manipur reported deaths of three more unvaccinated persons due to Covid and 44 new cases in the last 24 hours.
This month's number of deaths of unvaccinated persons thus has reached 8 with two deaths being reported earlier on November 1 and 2 and one death yesterday.
According to COVID-19 Common Control Room, the deceased persons belonged to Imphal East, Tamenglong and Ukhrul and two of them had co-morbidities.
With this, the number of Covid deaths stands at 1930 .
Meanwhile, the test positivity rate has sunk from 3.8 percent reported yesterday to 3.5 pc today as 44 cases out of the 1,275 samples were confirmed positive for the virus at RIMS (3), JNIMS (6) and other testing centres (35) .
Of the total, 31 cases belong to Imphal West, 8 to Imphal East, 2 cases to Tamenglong and 1 each to Bishnupur, Thoubal and Kamjong, the common control room said.
With the addition of the new cases, the total number of positive cases is 1,24,001 including 4,339 Central security personnel, it said.
In the meantime, 32 persons who were in home isolation (3) and RIMS (7), JNIMS (5) and CCCs (17) were discharged taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,21,358 (general population-1,17,038 and Central security personnel- 4,320).The number of active cases is 713 including 14 Central security personnel and the recovery rate is 97.87 percent, the common control room said.
It also stated that 356 D-type and 9 B-type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health facilities of Manipur as on November 4.Meanwhile, State's second dose vaccination coverage stands at 31.92 percent as on November 4.As illustrated in a table by the COVID-19 Common Control Room, Jiribam (46.71 percent) has overtaken Imphal West (46.22 percent) in second dose vaccination rate.
Kakching remains top in terms of first dose vaccination with a record 70.76 percent and third in terms of second dose vaccination with 42.25 percent.
Chandel is the most covered among hill districts with 64.07 percent 1st dose vaccination and 37.97 percent second dose vaccination.
Second dose vaccination coverage (in percent) in the rest of the districts are Imphal East (41.13), Churachandpur (33.46), Senapati (19.50), Tamenglong (19.30), Thoubal (25.62), Ukhrul (13.69), Tengnoupal (20.93), Kangpokpi (8.74), Kamjong (15.16), Pherzawl (25.40) and Noney (21.51) .
