One more succumbs, COVID death toll rises to 63

Imphal, September 25 2020:
COVID-19 death toll has reached 63 in the State after a 55-year old woman from Bishnupur died at RIMS.
Sources informed that the woman was admitted to RIMS some days back before she succumbed to COVID-19 last morning.
It was said that she suffered stroke earlier.
The latest victim's husband was on home isolation after he was found infected by the contagion.
In the meantime, she became ill and was brought to RIMS.
On testing, she too was found infected by the virus.

According to a press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, 254 people including 58 personnel of CAPF were tested positive during the last 24 hours at RIMS, JNIMS, Imphal West, Ukhrul, Raj Medicity, Thoubal, Shija Hospital, Maipakpi Hospital, Tengnoupal, Churachand-pur, Imphal East, Tameng-long, Bishnupur, Kang- pokpi, Iboyaima Hospital, CMC Koirengei, Hillside Hospital, Advance Hospital, Babina Diagnostics and Kakching.
This is the second highest surge in a single day after Manipur recorded 293 positive cases on September 15.Of the 196 civilians who have been tested positive, 127 belong to Imphal West, 13 to Imphal East, 11 to Churachandpur, five to Bishnupur, 12 to Thoubal, 12 to Kakching, one to Kangpokpi, seven to Tamenglong, six to Tengnoupal and two to Ukhrul.
Out of them, 194 have no significant history of travelling outside the State.
Meanwhile, 233 people were discharged during the last 24 hours from RIMS (2), CCC Lamboi Khongnangkhong (142), RD Wing (16), UNACCO CCC (41), JNIMS (4), CCC Lamding-Thoubal (2), Kakching (13), Senapati (1), Churachandpur (10) and CAPF (2) after they were found COVID-19 free.
The total COVID-19 positive cases is now 9791 (general population 7670, Central security personnel 2121) .
This figure includes 2126 active cases (general population 1723, Central security personnel 403) and 7604 discharged cases (general population 5889, Central security personnel 1715).The recovery rate as on Friday is 77.64 per cent.
