Imphal, September 25 2020:
Visibly hurt over his expulsion from the N Biren Government's Council of Ministers, Karam Shyam has decried the alleged ungrateful, unethical and impulsive action of the Chief Minister.
Speaking to media persons at Lilong Chajing Mairenkhong community hall today, Karam Shyam said that he had been standing steadfast with NDA since the results of the 2017 State Assembly election were declared even though BJP won only 21 seats.
"Since then, I was supporting the coalition Government led by Chief Minister N Biren and I was serving as a Minister", Shyam said.
"Although it was NPP MLA L Jayantakumar who first proposed the name of N Biren for the post of Chief Minister, I also took key roles in the campaign to place N Biren on the Chief Minister's chair", he said.

Shyam said that he also told BJP National leaders who came to Imphal at the time of formation of the incumbent Government that N Biren should be made the Chief Minister.
"At that time, Congress offered the post of Chief Minister to NPP MLA Y Joykumar and the post of Deputy Chief Minister to me", Shyam disclosed.
"But I brushed aside the offer and supported Chief Minister N Biren and his Government", he continued.
Shyam said that he always stood on the side of N Biren whenever there were contests within the BJP-led coalition for the post of Chief Minister.
"The way I was removed from the Council of Ministers all of a sudden without sharing any information in spite of my unwavering support and contributions in keeping N Biren on the Chief Minister's chair smacks of sheer ingratitude", Shyam decried.
"I never thought N Biren would ever act in such an impulsive, unethical and ungrateful manner", he added.
He said that he would continue to serve the people even if he is no longer a Minister.
Shyam also conveyed warm greetings to the newly inducted Ministers and wished that they may serve the people of the State more meaningfully.
To a query, the lone LJP MLA from Langthabal AC said that he would not take any hasty decision on his next political move.
He said that he would wait for advice from LJP National leaders and consult the people of Langthabal AC before making any move.
Highlighting his achievements as CAF&PD and Revenue Minister during the last three years and a half, Karam Shyam claimed that 85 per cent of the total population of Manipur was brought within the ambit of NFSA.
"I was also able to secure release of NFSA subsidy for 2015-16 and 2016-17 from the Government which was pending.
Before I was removed from the Council of Ministers yesterday, I was urging the Ministry concerned to release around Rs 29 crore", he said.
One FCI regional office was opened at Imphal, several godowns were constructed and it was ensured that people did not face any shortage of fuel (petroleum products), he claimed.
Shyam said that he took up several measures to create a land bank.
