Active cases drop to 196

Imphal, January 23 2021:
Follo-wing recovery of 18 persons during the last 24 hours, the total number of COVID-19 active cases in the State has come down to 196 .
According to a press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, 187 civilians and nine Central security personnel are still suffering from COVID-19 .
On the other hand, 17 persons including two personnel of CAPF were found infected by the virus during the last 24 hours at RIMS, Raj Medicity, Babina Diagnostics, Shija Hospital, Tamenglong, Chandel and Churachandpur.
The 15 civilians who have been tested positive are residents of Imphal West (7), Imphal East (2), Chandel (1), Tamenglong (2) and Churachandpur (3) .
Meanwhile, 18 COVID-19 positive people were discharged during the last 24 hours from CAPF (1), home isolation (12), JNIMS (2), Shija Hospital (1), CCC Lamboi Khongnangkhong (1) and Raj Medicity (1) .
The cumulative number of positive cases is 28,970 (general population 25,549 and Central security personnel 3,421) .
It includes 28,405 discharged cases (general population 24,997 and Central security personnel 3,408) .
While the death toll remains unchanged at 369 as there was no report of COVID-19 during the last 24 hours, the recovery rate as on Saturday is 98.04 per cent.
