Sahitya Akademi inducts Prof Rajen Toijamba

Imphal, March 12 2023: Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi has appointed Professor Rajen Toijamba as the convenor of Manipuri Language Advisory Board of the literature institution.

Professor Rajen Toijamba is a well-known figure in the field of Manipuri literature, theatre and culture.

He had published several books on drama and critical writings.

Apart from being a recipient of Sahitya Akademi award, he had also remained as member of the general council of Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi for the term 2013-2017.He was also a member of Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre, Dimapur.

He had also been honoured with Maisnam Oja Tombi Critic Award 2011 by Manipuri Sahitya Parishad and Thiyam Radhesakhi Award 2014 by Leimarol Khorjeikol (Leikol).

He retired from Manipur University, Manipuri department.
