Three UG cadres arrested

Imphal, October 26 2015: A combined team of district police commando Thoubal and 2 Assam Rifles conducted frisking and checking in Thoubal bazar area and arrested one active member of PREPAK organisation, namely, Ashem Sarat Singh (50) S/o (L) A Nitni Singh of Thoubal Awang Leikai on Oct 24 .

According to a statement issued by the PRO of Police Dept, a case has been registered at Thoubal Police Station and investigation is going on.

On Oct 19, based on a reliable information about the presence of some active workers of KCP(MC) in and around Masjid road Paona Bazar to commit prejudicial activities, a team of district police commando Imphal West conducted search operation in the said area and arrested one active member of KCP(MC) organisation, namely, Md Harish alias Amuba (25) S/o (L) Md Feroz of Kwakta at present staying at Keirang Umang Leikai.

Investigation revealed that he was involved in extortion of money from businessmen/shopkeepers of Imphal area for raising party fund.

A case has been registered at City Police Station and investigation is going on, it said.

Meanwhile, based on specific intelligence regarding movement of a UG cadre, troops of the 16 Assam Rifles of 10 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) launched an operation in the general area of Taretkhul and apprehended one KYKL cadre on Oct 25 .

According to a statement issued by the PRO of IGAR (S), the apprehendee was identified as Batch No 02 of 2002, Sanasam Tenden Meetei (28) S/o Sanasam Manglemjao of Tumukhong Awang Leikai, PO – Lamlong, PS – Yaripok, District – Imphal East.

The apprehendee was handed over to the Sagolmang Police Station.
