Imphal, June 29 2021: As the second wave of Covid-19 continues to spread in the state, 11 more people have lost their lives to Covid-19 infection while 780 individuals have been newly infected out of 5051 samples tested on Tuesday, recording a positivity rate of 15.44 per cent.

The number of active caseloads was 5923 as on Tuesday of which 2383 are in home isolation and 1965 are in CHICs.

As of Monday 10 pm, 740 patients were admitted to different hospitals with 281 on oxygen support and 43 on ventilator support.

On the other hand, 835 patients were lodged in different CCCs and out of them 82 are on oxygen support.

The State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee reported 11 fatalities (6 males & 5 females) in the last 24 hours.

The district wise casualties are Imphal West (6), Imphal East (1), Thoubal (3) and Chandel (1) .

Four patients died at JNIMS, two each at RIMS, Shija Hospitals, Raj Medicity and one at CHC Chakpikarong.

The cumulative number of deaths has reached 1141.Six of the victims were in the age group of below 60 years.

Two died within 24 hours of arriving at the hospital and one within 72 hours.

Four patients did not have any co-morbid conditions.

According to government reports, the 780 new cases included 778 people (402 males & 376 females) from among the general population and two personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF).

Their samples were tested at RIMS (7), JNIMS (105), district hospitals (496) and other testing centres (172) .

The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (160), Imphal West (201), Thoubal (120), Bishnupur (58), Kakching (45), Ukhrul (7), Churachandpur ((185)3,), Chandel (3), Senapati (3), Tengnoupal Jiribam (2), Kamjong (3), Noney (11), Pherzawl (1) and Kangpokpi (3).All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.

In the last 24 hours, 488 patients were discharged from home isolation (228), RIMS (19), JNIMS (7), CCCs (90) and CHICs (144) .

The cumulative number of positive cases is 69,198 (general population - 65,375 and CAPF personnel - 3,823).Number of recovered cases is 62,134 (general population - 58,366 and CAPF personnel - 3,768) .

Number of active cases is 5,923 (general population - 5,873 and CAPF personnel - 50).The recovery rate is 89.79 per cent.

In the last 24 hours, 1288 D-type and 337 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities.

As of Monday, 5,48,916 individuals have been administered Covid-19 vaccines with 83,481 already jabbed for the mandatory second time.

Meanwhile, 15,089 vaccine doses including 276 second doses were administered on Monday, which is the highest in a single day so far.

Forty eight new positive cases were also detected out of 350 samples tested in Kakching district on Tuesday with four cases detected at Ema Hospital, 10 at Jivan Hospital and 34 at government RAT centre.

One is from Chandel, two from Wangjing while the remaining are residents of Kakching district.

At the same time, 51 new positive cases were also detected during a mobile test conducted under the supervision of CMO Imphal West during which around 150 samples were tested.

As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (24,914), Imphal East (15,378), Thoubal (5791), Churachandpur (5548), Kangpokpi (1762), Tamenglong (2133), Bishnupur (4324), Senapati (1377), Ukhrul (1460), Kakching (3447), Chandel (1149), Noney (568), Tengnoupal (767), Jiribam (749), Kamjong (441) and Pherzawl (110) .

Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (408), Imphal East (296), Thoubal (108), Churachandpur (94), Kangpokpi (29), Tamenglong (11), Bishnupur (82), Senapati (5), Ukhrul (15), Kakching (62), Chandel (17), Noney (3), Tengnoupal (5), Jiribam (3), Kamjong (3) and Pherzawl (0).However, the figure does not match with data released by CMOs of some districts.

Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 22,300 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 21,789 CPM.

Test rate has improved to 2,89,288 tests per million population against the national average of 2,92,905 TPM.

Case fatality rate stands at 1.65 per cent and the cumulative positivity rate at 7.71 per cent.
