Kpi AC Labours' Union opens training centres, raises awareness on welfare benefits

Kangpokpi, May 14 2018:
Kangpokpi Assembly Constituency Labours' Union under the aegis of United Labours' Union Manipur (ULUM) opened three training centres today at Kangpokpi Community Hall.
ADC Sadar Hills Chairman, Haokholal Hangshing inaugurated Kangpokpi, Kholjang and Saipimol Hanjang training centres for building and other construction workers under Labour Department in the presence of M Thangboi Haokip, gen secy, United Labours' Union Manipur.
A significant awareness program on welfare benefits and facilities under Manipur Building and Other Construction Welfare Board was also held during the program.
Around 300 men and women from different parts of Kangpokpi AC participated in the inaugural and awareness programme.
Speaking at the occasion, ADC Sadar Hills Chairman appreciated the humble initiative of Kangpokpi AC Labours' Union in opening such centres and emphasized the significant and vast roles of Labour Union in helping the weaker section of the society and construction workers.
He also stressed on various skill development training imparted by the Union and urged the people of Kangpokpi to participate sincerely and enthusiastically in the Union while extending maximum cooperation so as to avail various benefits and facilities of the Union.
M Thangboi Haokip highlighted various activities of the Union stating that the main objective of opening the training centres is to provide employment oriented skill development training in various traits to weaker sections of the society and link them to employment.
Interacting with the participants during the awareness program, he imparted awareness of the Union, its functioning, welfare schemes and facilities, enrolment process and training procedures, etc.
Meanwhile, 50-Kangpokpi AC Labours' Union expressed its gratitude to S Preshorjit Sharma for bringing in such benefits for the workers of the area.
It also recalled that workers of 50-Kangpokpi AC took part in the Labours' Day observation program held at Mapal Kangjeibung on May 1 which is a landmark in the history of workers' union in Manipur.
