AMFA receives AIFF Award 2023-24

Imphal, July 24 2024: All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) has been presented with the AIFF Award 2023-24 by All India Football Federation (AIFF) in recognition for most successful member association and admirable participation in competitions of the national football championship.

Speaking to media per sons during a reception programme held in connection with the award at its Lamlong Thongkhong office on Wednesday, AMFA president M Ratankumar informed that the said award was presented in acknowledgement of Manipur leading in development of football in India and producing number of footballers along with exceptional performance in different age group tournaments and championships organised by AIFF.

Mentioning that the achievement has been made possible due to the hard work of various clubs, associations and AMFA executive members, he continued that AIFF has recognised the state as a football factory and has entrusted the Association to organise various tournaments.

Ratankumar also thanked the public, players and their parents for supporting the Association so far.

He noted that Manipuri footballers are thriving as large number of them are with reputed I-League and ISL teams in addition to donning the national colour.

Pointing out that 13 from Manipur were inducted out of 20 selected from across the country for an academy recently established by the AIFF to nurture footballers, he also appealed to district association and AMFA members to continue working sincerely, and to parents of footballers and football lovers of the state to continue their support for further development of the sport.
