ESU seal women's title at State Junior Basketball Championship

ESU got the better of YASU in the women's final of the 14th State Junior Basketball Championship at Brahmapur Nahabam Basketball Court on Wednesday.
ESU emerged as the champions with a 35-11 win over their opponents.
They started off with a dominant 9-0 lead in the first quarter and went on to sweep aside their opponents 8-0 in the second period.
ESU continued to stamp their authority by capturing the third quarter 8 4 before wrapping a memorable win with a 10-5 drubbing of YASU in the fourth quarter.
Meanwhile, Thoubal and Kokilbon prevailed in the men's event on Wednesday.
Thoubal secured a 42-35 success against YOSC.
The Thoubal side edged past their opponents 8-7 in the opening period and then extended their lead with a 11-9 second-quarter performance before being outscored 10-11 in the third session.
However, Thoubal bounced back taking the fourth period 13-8 to close out the game in their favour.
Kokibon, on the other hand, cruised to a 66-24 win over NETA.
Kokibon overpowered NETA 21-2 in the first quarter and continued their attacking prowess to earn a 12-6 score in the second period before roaring into action, taking the third quarter 21-4 .
Both teams tied 12-12 in the fourth quarter, but the cumulative score was more than enough to give Kokibon the victory.
