Ukhrul wraps up training of polling personnel

Ukhrul, April 17 2024:
The District Election Office, Ukhrul successfully completed the training programme for polling personnel for the Ukhrul (ST) assembly constituency.
As general election to 18th Lok Sabha in respect of Ukhrul is slated on April 26, the DEO had called up polling personnel of Ukhrul AC for the third and final training session at UHSS on Wednesday.
The training session was organised in groups and shifts, with the morning session focusing on hands-on practical for the male personnel and theoretical class for the female personnel.
In the afternoon, the sessions were interchanged.
The master trainers covered topics such as EVM operation and sealing, VVPAT handling, mock and actual polls, filling out various forms, like 17A, 17B & 17C and the presiding officer's diary.
The personnel were also trained in the use of mobile applications like Poll Star, e-Atlas, and Traccar Apps, as well as webcasting equipment.
Altogether 324 polling officers, including 160 women and 164 men, received training.
The Ukhrul assembly constituency has 71 polling stations, out of which 37 will be designated as women-only and 34 as men-only.
In addition to Ukhrul, Kamjong district under the Outer parliamentary constituency will also go to the polls on April 26 .
