FC Imphal withdraw from 2nd TBSFA Veteran Football tourney

Imphal, July 09 2018: FC Imphal has decided to withdraw its participation from the 2nd TBSFA Veteran Football tournament 2018 after careful deliberation by its managing committee in protest against the decision of the organising committee (Th Birchandra Singh Football Academy) .

The issue came after FC Imphal and VSAI, Thangmeiband protested regarding eligibility of 45 years category of the veteran players of the said tournament.

The disciplinary committee set up regarding the case by the organising committee after examining the documents submitted by the two teams-two players, specifically N Uttam of VSAI was found to be guilty of Manipulating his date of birth (two aadhar cards citing two different date of births) while Krishno Singh of FC Imphal could not produce necessary documents demanded by organising committee.

Consequently the committee resolved to bar both players from playing further matches in the age category of 45 years and above of the ongoing tournament and the match played on June 26 between the two teams, FC Imphal and VSAI, Thangmeiband to be considered as loss.

It may be mentioned the 2nd TBSFA Veteran Football tournament 2018 is organised by Th Birchandra Singh Football Academy and is underway since June 24 at its ground.

In a statement released by L Eshwordas, Manager FC Imphal criticised the decision taken by the organising committee ignoring the clarification regarding the document submitted and their appeal to conduct medical test to verify age of N Krishno.
