N Biren assured to discuss the border issue as well the demands with the Central Government.
He also reiterated that not an inch of Manipur's land will be lost or allowed to be taken away by any country.
On the other hand, Kwatha Village Chairman Ningthoujam Manihar stated that the encroachment of fend by Myanmar towards Manipur is rather unfortunate while urging the State Government to fulfil the demands mentioned in the memorandum.
The memorandum was submitted demanding the State Government to re-demarcate the India Myanmar boundary and re-identify border pillar along the boundary.
The demands in the memorandum included resurvey of boundary line which has been demarcated as per Indo-Burma boundary agreement signed on March 10, 1967 in Rangoon by the Govt of India and Burma.
It highlighted that Manipur is losing vast areas of land while Myanmar is moving many of the BPs from its original spots to new spots and further into Indian territory as well as claiming that these are their boundaries.
It stated that the Assam Rifles did not say anything about the fencing until representatives of CPLBF, ICHAM and media confronted the AR and the Principal Secretary (Home) Dr Suresh Babu.
When the high power committee of the State Govt visited the fencing at Moreh, the AR claimed on October 22, 2013 that the fencing is "Security Fencing" and not border fencing.
The committee urged the authorities concerned to rectify and inform the committee on the matter at the earliest.
The committee further enquired about the 2/3 feet cut stones called "Sub Pillar", as AR calls it, placed in between two BPS.
It stated that such Sub Pillars are not accepted as the pillars have not been put up by authorities concerned as agreed upon by both countries.
The sub pillars were placed by AR and BRO with the objective of convenience for constructing the fencing, the committee alleged.
It demanded that any BP found to have been manipulated should be removed in order to find out whether the BP had been moved from its original spot.
The committee stressed that on June 27, 2002, a letter written by Kh Netra, Joint Secretary (Home), Govt of Manipur to Surrendra Kumar, Joint Secretary (NE) Ministry of Home Affairs, mentioned that during a meeting between the head of survey Department of the Burma (or Mynamar) and India at New Delhi, the heads of the two countries agreed to adopt some adjustments at the border areas involving Kabaw Valley sector including Molcham and Choro Khunou areas of Manipur.
The committee urged the Govt to correct and save the land without undivided attention.
It stated that as per concerns of the committee, the State forces should be deployed within the border areas with immediate effect for the safety of the public.
The committee further demanded ring road connectivity in the border areas in Manipur sectpr.
It demanded removal of Revenue Minister Karam Shyam from the High Level Power Committee for his statement through social media while urging that resurvey of the BP should be a joint venture with the committee and village authority concerned.
