State Powerlifting C'ship : PBBPTC sweep five gold medals on Day 2

Imphal, October 30 2026: PBBPTC dominated the second day of the 16th Manipur State Sub-Junior, Junior, Senior and Masters Powerlifting Championship, sweeping five gold and two silver medals.

The championship is currently underway at Keishamthong Elangbam Leikai.

Ranisana Waikhom gave PBBPTC their opening gold medal of the day by recording a total lift of 150 kg in the sub-junior girls' 47 kg category.

She registered 50 kg in the squat, 30 kg in the bench press, and 70 kg in the deadlift to seal the top spot.

PBBPTC's gold rush continued as Kayenpaibam Velena delivered successful lifts of 87.5 kg in the squat, 55 kg in the bench press, and 122.5 kg in the deadlift to secure the junior girls' 47 kg category gold.

Meanwhile, her teammate W.Asha posted 60 kg in the squat, 30 kg in the bench press, and 80 kg in the deadlift to claim the senior women's 52 kg category gold medal.

S Ibetombi of PBBPTC further extended the team's gold medal haul by topping the Masters-3 women's 52 kg category competition with a total lift of 120 kg (50 kg squat, 20 kg bench press, and 50 kg deadlift).

This was followed by a stellar performance from Maibam Gulabi, who clinched the junior girls' 57 kg category gold with a massive cumulative lift of 352.5 kg (140 kg squat, 77.5 kg bench press, and 135 kg deadlift) .

Breaking PBBPTC's streak, Sinam Christina won the senior women's 63 kg category gold for UFC Gym with a total lift of 275 kg (105 kg squat, 50 kg bench press, and 120 kg deadlift) .

She was closely followed by PBBPTC's N Devala, who took the silver with a total lift of 250 kg, while Mutum Priyaluxmi of Ogust Gym settled for the bronze with a 245 kg lift.

In the Masters-3 women's 63 kg category, Tekcham Renubala of The Gym LYS managed 30 kg in the squat, 25 kg in the bench press, and 60 kg in the deadlift to seal the gold medal.

Sh Tamphasana Devi of PBBPTC recorded 45 kg in the squat, 20 kg in the bench press, and 50 kg in the deadlift to take home the silver medal.
