XII Zadonang Memorial Football : LKCC seal last 16 round berth with 1-0 win over RYC

Imphal, November 17 2018: LKCC, Langthabal Khoupum beat RYC, Ramji by a slender 1-0 margin today to secure their second win and finalised their last 16 round berth from Group A at the ongoing XIIth Zadonang Memorial Football Tournament organised by Zeliangrong Football Association at THAU Sports Complex.

Golmei Nanaoba Kabui's strike in the 11th minute was more than enough for LKCC to seal the pre-quarter final berth.

Group leaders, LKCC face second placed Longjang team in the last Group A fixture on November 19.The match will determine group winners.

In the Group B league match, SKYC, Sawombung climbed to top spot in group's tally with a 1-1 draw with DYC, Dimdaijang.

SKYC now have 5 points from 1 win and 2 draws and are assured of the last 16 round.

Khumji Part V team have to play out a draw least to seal the last 16 round berth.

Else, DYC which have better goal account will qualify for the last 16 round spot.

SKYC started game with a bang as Armstrong Gangmei hit the opener just 2 minutes into the game.

Zangthailung Gangmei's 19th minute strike however helped DYC raised their hope before settling the game in a 1-1 stalemate.

The Group C league match of the game saw, Ragailong team RYC edged out Chuangphun FC (CFC) by 3-2 goals in competitive match.

Gaibonglung Kamei put RYC ahead with his brace (28', 35') while Gaikhanglin Golmei added the third in the 52nd minute.

CFC made relentless effort in the second half and it was in the 45th minute that Johny Phamei pulled back a goal before Dangmei Sashuaklung reduced the gap to 2-3 with a fine strike in the 56th minute.

CFC continued to toil in search of the leveller but their efforts went abegging in front of RYC's defence line up.

With this win, RYC finished group leader with all 9 points.

In the Group D League match, Bonny Kamei saved KRYDC's blushes with his equaliser in the 43rd minute after LYC, Lubanglong enjoyed the lead with a 31st minute strike by AK Keininglung.

Morning: Khoupum FC vs Araing (AYC) at 7 am ; Keikhu (KYC) vs Shangji (SFC) at 8.30 am .

Evening: Chinikon (CYC) vs Guigailong (GYC) at 1 pm and SAIREM (SSYC) vs Kekru Villa (KVYC) at 2.30 pm .
