WBAM announces State teams for National Wheelchair Basketball Championship 2025

Imphal, July 27 2025: The Wheelchair Basketball Association (WBAM) has announced State men and women's teams for the 9thNational Wheelchair Basketball Championship 2025 to be held in Gwalior in September.

The men's team selected after a 5-day non residential coaching camp at Hao Ground, Chingamathak include Syed Farooque, captain, of Lilong Haoreibi Awang Leikai, Md Aziz of Hatta, Thounaojam Khelemba of Lilong Chajing; Senjam Kakanti of Keishampat Kangabam Leikai, Oinam Dharmen of Kwakeithel Thiyam Leikai, Pheiroijam Dennis of Kongpal Kongkham Leikai, Hafijuddin of Urup Awang Leikai, Sohel Akhtar of Lilong Haoreibi Makha Leikai, and Longjam Bidyasagar of Samurou Naorem Chaprou.

Md Yunus Khan, Sandham Bijoy and Okendro Heisnam were also named as the coach, assistant coach and manager for the men's team.

The women's team in the meantime include Chakpram Lokeshori of Singjamei Chingamathak, Irengbam Ritu of Irengbam Makha Leikai, Maimom Gunibala of Sanjembam Makha Leikai, Nahakpam Ratana of Kumbi Ward No 3, Thongbam Sangita of Maklang Awang Leikai, Mangte Jermiah Kom of Kakching Mantak, Laishram Linda of Khurai Ahongei Leikai and Anjira Laskar of Porompat.

Md Yunus Khan, Longjam Bidyasagar and L Amarendra Sharma were also named as coach, assistant coach and manager of the women's team.

The men's championship is slated to be held from September 1 to 5 while the women's championship will be held from September 6 to 10 .
