9th MNCA Elite Tournament : TRAU extend winning run with 7-wicket win over KCC

TRAU, Kwakeithel extended their winning run to two games in the 9th MNCA W Prahlada and W Ramananda Elite Tournament 2024-25 by beating KCC, Kongba Bazar by 7 wickets at Model Hr Secondary and Oriental College Ground today.
Notably, TRAU had beaten CHAMP Cricket Club, Khagempalli by 10 wickets in their opening match.
TRAU chose wisely to field first today after winning the toss and restricted KCC to 197/6 in the allotted 40 overs and chased down the target in 32.1 overs with 7 wickets left to spare.
Nongmaithem Dijaraj 44 off 68 balls, Nameirakpam Arbin 44 off 46 balls (retd hurt) and Rohit Singh 39 off 68 balls were the leading run getters for the Kongba side in the first innings that saw Somorjit Salam of TRAU returning with the best bowling figures of 2/33 in 8 overs.
Anoubam Puinachandra (1/23 in 5 overs), Priyojit Kangabam (1/29 in 7 overs), Mutum Swabhiman (1/36) and Preethson Arubam (1/38 in 5 overs) also chipped in with a wicket apiece for TRAU.
In reply, Pukhrambam Prafullomani clobbered 12 fours and 3 sixes off 47 balls on the way to his quickfire 78 before Priyojit Kangabam anchored with an unbeaten 65 off 70 balls on the back of 6 fours and 2 sixes to take TRAU to winning 198/3 in 32.1 overs.
Nandeibam Singthoi (2/29 in 8 overs) and Rohen Singh (1/28) were among the wickets for KCC.
TRAU skipper Priyojit Kangabam who starred with both the bat and ball was adjudged player of the match.
