Rich haul of medals for state archers at National School Games

Imphal, November 20 2024:
The state U-14 archery team reaped a rich haul of medals at the 68th National School Games, winning seven, including two gold, on Wednesday in Nadiad, Gujarat.
The two gold medals were won in both individual and team events.
Soibam Lingjelthoibi emerged as a standout performer, earning the gold medal in the girls' Indian round event with a remarkable score of 676 points.
The second gold medal came from the boys' recurve team event, where Zeous Leisangthem, Hidangmayum Binison Sharma, Lamyanba Soibam, and Ajaay Yuumnam collectively amassed an impressive 3951 points to secure victory.
In addition to the gold medals, the state team captured four silver medals.
Zeous Leisangthem (332 points), Hidangmayum Binison Sharma (342 points), and Soibam Lingjelthoibi (341 points) earned silver in their respective individual categories.
Zeous finished second in the boys' 60m recurve event, Binison in the boys' 50m recurve event, and Lingjelthoibi in the girls' 20m Indian round event.
Another silver medal was secured by the boys' compound team, comprising Sagolsem Manithoi Singh, Chanam Malemnganba Meitei, Lanngamba Mutum, and Yumnam Lanthoiba Singh, who accumulated a total of 1998 points.
Adding to the state's medal tally, the girls' recurve team - composed of Yumnam Sanamanbi Chanu, Yaikhombi Thongram, Tanouhenbi Khundrakpam, and Pukhrishabam Jelly Devi - claimed a bronze medal.
