169 Bn CRPF-organised football tournament kicks off at Leitanpokpi

Imphal, November 03 2026: The 169 Battalion, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) inaugurated a district-level Football Tournament today at G/169 Bn CRPF, Leitanpokpi, Manipur under the SPANDAN initiative of Khelo India, a flagship programme of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.

The tournament is being organised with the objective of promoting sporting culture, physical fitness, discipline, teamwork and healthy competition among local youth, said 169 Bn CRPF in a press release.

The opening day witnessed enthusiastic participation from local teams.

The first match of the tournament saw PLYC, Purum blank NSC, Khundrakpam 4-0 before Ekou team defeated NGC, Taret Khul 1-0, it said.

The event also reflects the commitment of CRPF towards strengthening its bond with the local population through community-oriented activities and fostering mutual trust and harmony.

The tournament will continue till November 6, it added.
