Manipur Veteran TT : Ashalata to face Sushila for women's singles title

S Ashalata will lock horns with N Sushila for the women's singles title in the ongoing 19th State Veteran Table Tennis Championship 2018 which kicked off yesterday at Indoor Stadium, DM College campus.
The championship organised by Manipur Veteran Table Tennis Association will be concluded tomorrow at 3 pm.
S Ashalata booked her place into the final today beating O Hemolata in straight sets (11-6, 11-5, 11-6) while N Sushila overcame K Ibeyaima 11-4,9-11, 11-6, 11-9 to set up the summit clash.
K Ibeyaima claimed the third place title beating O Hemolata 11-3, 11-6, 11-6 .
Women's doubles title was claimed by S Ashalata and N Sanahanbi pair who beat W Promila and K Ibeyaima in the final.
N Sushila and O Hemolata were able to claim the third spot.
S Ashalata also won the mixed doubles title pairing up with P Lokendro.
The duo trounced N Sanahanbi and S Chandra Sharma 11-6, 11-4, 11-6 in the final to win the title while W Promila and Y Jai Singh emerged third place winners after defeating K Ibeyaima and AK Dev 11-7, 10-12, 117, 11-7 .
Men's Singles
N Biren on the other hand will be facing Th Dharmendra in the men's singles final clash tomorrow.
N Biren sealed the final spot pulling off a 11-8, 7-11, 12-10, 5-11, 13-11 win over Y Subhaschandra in a semi-final match today while Th Dharmendra had an easy 11-3, 11-2, 11-8 win over P Lokendro in another semi-final match.
Y Subhaschandra, however managed to win the third place title beating P Lokendro 11-3, 10-12, 11-9, 11-8 .
Men's Doubles
In the above men's above 40 years doubles competition, Y Surchandra and Dr Umakanta booked themselves into the final by defeating M Binod and Kh Pramesh 11-8, 11-8, 11-6 in a semi-final match.
They will be meeting the pair of O Jameson and Th Dharmendra who outlasted P Lokendro and S Surjit 11-6, 14-12, 11- 5 in another semi-final clash.
Third place title of the competition went to P Lokendro and M Surjit who got the better of M Binod and Kh Pramesh in straight sets (12-10, 11-9, 11-5) .
The above 50 years men's single final will be played between S Chandra Sharma and M Noren tomorrow.
S Chandra saw off Ch Lokendro 7-11, 13-11, 11-4, 11-6 in a semi-final match to move into the final while M Noren was able to sealed the final berth beating T Nirmal 11-9, 11-3, 3-11, 11-1 in another semi-final match.
Ch Lokendro however fought hard to beat T Nirmal 11-6, 11-4, 12-10 to claim finished third in this category.
The day also saw S Chandra and M Noren pan-up well to beat Th Rajendra and T Nirmal 11-6, 5-11, 9-11, 12-10, 11-3 to fetch the doubles title for above 60 years.
P Sanajaoba and Ch Radhakrishna claimed the third place title in this competition by defeating Kh Rajendro and L Chandrasekhar 11-6, 4-11, 11-9, 11-6 .
The men's single final for above 65 years will see G Prafullo Sharma, who beat Ng Brajakumar by 3-2 sets (11-8, 10-12, 11-5, 8-11, 11-7) in the semifinal, take on M Rajendra who outlasted Ch Ranjan 11-7, 11-6, 11-7 in another semi-final clash.
Ng Brajakumar, however claimed the third spot beating Ch Ranjan 11-5, 11-7, 11-8 .
M Kumar and G Prafullo Sharma were crowned above 65 years doubles champions.
They sealed a 11-9, 11-9, 10-12, 11-6 win over H Rajendra and Ng Brajakumar in the final to win the title.
