Governors Cup Invitational Polo Tournament : MPCC & CPC storm into semis

Manipur Police Polo Club � A (MPCC) and Chingkheihunba Polo Club (CPC) storms into the semi final of the 25th Governors Cup Invitational Polo Tournament at Mapal Kangjeibung on Wednesday.
MPCC-A and CPC annihilate their respective opponents in the quarterfinal match.
MPCC-A devastated ESC Nongmeibung by 15-5 score while CPC routed MPCC-B with 11 goals margin.
M Jawan; S Bimol and S Bungcha score one goal each, all MPCC-A players, and hand over the reign of the match to MPCC-A from the first chukker itself.
The hold over the match was not released in the second chukker also.S Abungcha pumped in three more goals while Th Ranjit and M Jawan added one a piece to take the tally to 8-0 in favour of MPCC-A .

The one way traffic was halted when ESC finally matched MPCC-A goal for goal in the third chukker.
The third chukker show a lively match where L Iboyaima, 2 goals, Th Romen and M Jawan, MPCC-A players, added one each, a total of 4 goals were scored.
In reply ESC scored the first goal of the match and brig back life to the competition through Haobi Achumi, 2 goals.
At the end of third chukker the score line reads 12-2, with 10 goals advantage to MPCC-A.M Bimol fired 2 goals and M Jayan scored 1 to take the total sore of MPCC-A to 15 .
In reply, L Menaketa, Th Momocha and Th Basanta scored 1 goal each to bring parity in for the fourth chukker even if they could not make up the total deficit.
In the second match of the day, Police team had the reverse experience when Chingkheihunba Polo Club (CPC) drive in 4 goals through L Atangba, 2 goals; Ak Marun and Th Kaoba, 1 goal each to take an early command of the quarterfinal match against Manipur Police Polo Club-B.I Khamba of MPCC-B reduced the margin by scoring 1 goal in the first chukker.
L Atangaba and Th Kaoba added a goal each to take the total goal to 6 for CPC and T Pradipkumar continued the catch up for MPCC-B by scoring a goal in the second chukker.
The third chukker was evenly matched with both the teams scoring one goal each.
L Kokeshwor of CPC and T Pradipkumar of MPCC-B were the scorers.
CPC players closed the match with an extraordinary performance where they collectively scored 6 goals.
Ak Marun powered in 3 goals while L Atangba; Th Kaoba and L Kokeshwor added a goal each to the team total.
Stunned by the sudden onslaught, MPPC-B could score only one goal through Kh Nongpoknganba.
Fine display of polo in the first chukker and fourth chukker enable CPC to score 13 goals in total against 4 by MPPC-B to march into the semi final.
On Thursday, the first match of the 14th Governor's Cup Women Polo Tournament will be played between District Pana and ESU Nongmeibung.
The second match will be the quarterfinal match between Ibudhou Thangjing Polo Club and Nambulmapal Polo Club.
KNMM Riding School will clash with Khurai Polo Club, quarter final match, in the last match of the day.
