5th MNCA Superplate Trophy : AKSDO thrash UCC by 41 runs as PTCC, TCMDC share spoils in 177-run tie

Imphal, January 14 2026: AKSDO, Khangabok registered a comfortable 41-run win over UCC, Kangchup Road to finish as Group B runners in the 5th MNCA Superplate Trophy today.

By virtue of their 2nd place finish on the back of 5 wins in the 6 league round matches, AKSDO qualified for the semi-finals alongside Group B winners MPSC, who had posted 6 of 6 wins.

AKSDO, who chose to bat first at Khangabok Cherapur Public Ground, raised 180 runs for 9 wickets on the back of leading knocks from Chingamba Elangbam 37 off 34, Laishram Samson 23 off 44; and Saikhom Kaiku 21 off 39.Roshan Laishram (4/36 in 6.3 overs), Saikhom Kaiku (2/29 in 7 overs) and Rohit Laishram (2/14) shared 8 crucial wickets to set up UCC collapse at 139 in 32.3 overs despite valiant efforts from Thangjam Anson 46 off 45 and Mocha 20 off 21.For UCC, Langpoklakpam Bipinkumar was the pick of the bowling claiming three wickets (3/24 in 7 overs) while Jenish Pukhrambam (2/30) and Konsam Gulson (2/36) shared four wickets.

Roshan Laishram was pivotal in bowling out UCC, was adjudged the player of the match.

Elsewhere at Model Hr Sec and Oriental College ground, TCMDC opted to field first and restricted PTCC to 177/6 in the allotted 35 overs before they missed out on the win with Hijam Hemachandra getting run out in the final delivery of the innings.

Abit Hijam 37 off 48, Dominic Moirangthem 34 off 37, and G Gomi 30 off 54 were the leading run scorers for PTCC today in the first innings that saw Suraj Kharibam, U Rain, L Valindra, and S Priyobarta claiming a wicket apiece for TCMDC .

In reply, K Kalyan Sharma hit 55 off 87 followed by S Priyobarta 24 off 19, Arshad Ali 23 off 33, and L Vivekananda but their efforts fell short as PTCC's Dominic Moirangthem struck his second wicket (2/35) and set up T Nganba run out in the final over to keep their rivals under pressure.

Gemson (2/27) and O Sadananda (2/44) also picked two wickets apiece to help PTCC salvage a point today.

Dominic Moirangthem who shone with both the bat and ball was named player of the match.
