Nirmala clinches National archery title

Imphal, October 15 2014:
State athlete Nirmala Devi overcame Kamini Boro's challenge to clinch the individual women's crown in the 22nd National Archery Championship organised by Archery Association of India from October 11 to 13 at New Delhi.
Nirmala, who had claimed the bronze medal in the previous edition, displayed a gritty performance to beat Kamini 6-4 .

Meanwhile, State men's and women's compound team respectively bagged gold and silver medals in the ongoing 35th Senior National Compound and Recurve Competition.
The Manipur men's team comprising Kh Ratan Kumar, Kh Ningol Mangang, Sh Ramakanta Sharma and O Kennedy defeated Rajasthan by 4 points and scored a total of 232 points.
In women's event, P Lily Chanu, RK Seitapriya, P Baby Devi and Gitanjali Laishram scored 200 points and lost against Bihar by 1 point.
