Imphal, October 15 2014:
The Manipur People's Party has appealed to voters of Hiyanglam AC to empower the oldest regional party of NE India, MPP in order to take up development deficiencies in the Assembly segment in particular and Manipur in general.
Addressing a press meet today, MPP president N Sovakiran went on the offensive and declared that the Congress will not be able to regain power as people of the country have aware about its wrong deeds.
Sovakiran said that Kabaw Valley which belonged to Manipur was ceded to Burma during the reign of Nehru.
Besides the people of the State have been reeling under the continued imposition of the Armed Forces Special Powers Act and the inflow of migrants.
These have come as gifts from the Congress, the MPP president alleged.
Sovakiran added that the gifts presented to the Congress by the people of Manipur and the gift received by the people from the Congress in return are antithetic.
The Congress party has turned a blind eye to the woes of the people due to imposition of AFSPA and deteriorating conditions of the National Highways, he asserted.
He appealed to the voters to cast their votes for the MPP candidate in order that development deficiencies are removed in Hiyanglam AC which has remained neglected for quite a long time and also to achieve federal structure in governance.
