UVSA, MLVFA post landslide victories to enter 5th Sangai Trophy semis

Imphal, April 29 2024: UVSA, Lilong hammered Langthabal FC 4-0 and MLVFA, Mayai Lambi overwhelmed IVFA, Singamei 6-1 in the last two quarter-final matches of the 5th Sangai Trophy Veteran Football Tournament at PAMYAL ground, Patsoi to reach semi-finals in style.

In the third quarter-final match, Kh Romen scored twice to set up a 4-0 win for UVSA.

Romen found the opener 12 minutes into the game before W Robin doubled the advantage the very next minute.

Celebrations continued for UVSA as Kh Romen was at it again in the 20th minute to make it 3-0 past clueless Langthabal FC .

S Premjit then struck late in the 60th minute to round off the scoring for UVSA.

In the last quarter final match, Th Krishna and Ratankumar struck two goals each to inspire MLVFA a commanding 6-1 victory.

Th Krishna (1', 14') and Ng Ratankumar (11', 42') took their turns to score and give MLVFA a 4-0 lead before S Samarendra (47') and H Nepolean (52') carried forward the scoring spree and made it 6-0.H Momocha scored a consolation goal for IVFA in the 56th minute and made the final scoreline read 1-6 .

With the win, MLVFA set up a semi-final date with UVSA on May 1 .

VSAI, Thangmeiband will play EMVFC, Lamlai in the first semi-final match tomorrow.
