Thoubal, October 12, 2013: Lamkang Khunkha beat New Wangparel by 2-1 set as Thamlapokpi defeated Leipungtampak with the same set margin in volleyball competition on the opening day of the 2nd Thamlapokpi Area Veteran Sports Meet which began from today at Thamlapokpi Playground in Chandel district.

Inaugural function of the sports meet organised by Thamlapokpi Baptist Church under the theme 'Build peace in love' was held with Chandel ADC Chairman Lhukhosei Zou, ADC member Cho Chanthoi Aimol and ADC chief executive member S Tongpao Mate as the chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.

In all 20 football and 21 volleyball teams are taking part at the sports meet.
