TIM supports indigenous rally

Imphal, October 30 2026: Thadou Inpi Manipur has endorsed the joint mass rally of "indigenous communities" organised by COCOMI and others on 31 October 2026 .

"We endorse the four demands: an end to the proxy war in Manipur, abrogation of the SoO agreement with Kuki militants, withdrawal of Assam Rifles, and resettlement of all IDPs," said TIM in a statement.

Thadou are a distinct indigenous community, it said, adding that the continued existence of the SoO has enabled impunity and violence against indigenous people, including Thadou.

Its abrogation is essential for peace and the rule of law, it added.

TIM urged all Thadou people to support the rally and stand in solidarity with other indigenous communities.
