Manipur strike 2 gold at fencing nationals

Imphal, March 27 2022: Manipur dished out a strong performance on the second day of the 23rd Sub-Junior National Fencing Championship at Raipur by winning four medals including two gold in individual competitions on Sunday.

Ambika Pangabam and Zenith Shambamduram both shone brightest to clinch a gold medal each.

Ambika outdid Tanvi of Karnataka 15-8 in the final of the girls' Sabre event where fellow state fencer Babydaina Pebam settled for the bronze medal.

Zenith, on the other hand, scored a 15-12 win over Chirag in their summit clash of the girls' Foil event.

The day also saw Prithi-biraj Kangabam claim silver medal in the boys' Foil competition.
