CDCC beat RCA in MNCA Superplate tourney

Imphal, December 30 2024: CDCC, Sagolband Salam Leikai beat RCA, Lilong by three runs in the league match of 4th MNCA Superplate Tournament 2024-25 held at Moijing Public Ground, Thoubal on Monday.

Electing to bat, CDCC were bowled out for a paltry 157 runs in 33.5 overs as RCA's Naesh Hussain wreaked havoc with a five-wicket haul.

Md Ataur Ra-haman (28 runs) and Thoudam Monet (26) were the only notable scorers.

However, CDCC bowlers spearheaded by Mandingbam Surjit Singh (three wickets), ably supported by Khursid Alam, Kshetrimayum Robert and Mutum Jodiba (two apiece) restricted RCA for 154 in 31.4 overs to ensure victory in the low-scoring contest, which saw Md Danish Khan top scoring at 53 runs.

Despite losing the match, RCA maintained its top position in Group A with 12 points followed by CDCC in second place at 10 points.
