Manoranjan football tourney from Feb 3

Imphal, January 27 2025: CRPF, Mantripukhri under the aegis of IGP, Manipur & Nagaland will organise the 15th Shaheed Manoranjan Singh Memorial State Level Open Football Tournament from February 3 to 15 at Artificial Turf, SAI Sports Complex, Takyel with sup port of Imphal West District Football Association (IWDFA) and All Manipur Football Association (AMFA).

The tournament is organised in memory of CRPF assistant commandant 'Shaheed Manoranjan Singh, son of (late) Ng Budhachandra and Ng Memcha of Yurembam Makha Leikai, who made the supreme sac-rifice while fighting Naxalites in Chhattisgarh in 2009.CRPF has been organising the tournament since 2010 in memory of 'Shaheed' Manoranjan and to promote the game of football in the state.

According to 69 Bn CRPF commandant cum organising committee chairman SA Rojan Zimik, 16 top teams of Manipur including Juvenile FC, SSU, SDC, RFCC, KLASA, AIM, YSWA, ASUFII, WAFA, FC Raengdai, YDO, PATHAP, RAU, YWC, SJC Salam and SU will take part in the tournament, to be played on knock-out basis.

The champions will be presented Rs 3 lakh and trophy with Rs 2 lakh and trophy earmarked for the runners-up team.

Meanwhile, Rs 10,000 and trophy each will be presented to highest goal scorer, best goalkeeper, best player of the tournament and man of the final match.
