MPA, IBSA script wins in MNCA Plate Tournament

MPA and IBSA notched up victories in Thursday's fixtures of the 9th MNCA Plate Tournament 2024-25.MPA defeated SHADOW by 52 runs at Public Ground, Khangabok Part-Ill Cherapur.
Batting first, MPA posted a total of 196/6, led by a commanding 61 from Yumnam Sheiteendra and a solid 54 from Huidrom Dhanashyam.
Contributions from Chingtham Albish (24), Th Chinglensana (17), Lucky Elangba (11), Elangbam Rohit (10), and Naorem Britain (9 not out) bolstered the innings.
In response, SHADOW faltered, managing only 144 before being bowled out in 27.2 overs.
Huidrom Dhanashyam spearheaded the MPA bowling attack, taking 3 wickets, while Th Chinglensana, Naorem Britain, and Vevekraj Chabungbam claimed 2 wickets each to seal the victory.
Devis Khunjamayum (27) and Aslam (25) were the notable performers for SHADOW in an otherwise underwhelming chase.
In the second fixture, IBSA defeated YWC by 4 wickets at Lairenjam Public Ground.
Electing to bat, YWC were dismissed for 139 in 32.5 overs, with Ashishkumar Wakongthem (30) standing out as the lone significar it contributor.
Azmad Kh delivered a match-winning performance with the ball for IBSA, claiming 5 wickets.
He was supported by Yengkhom Bhomendro (2 wickets), and Pravesh, James Awang, and Boney Potshangbam, who took one wicket each.
IBSA chased down the target in 30.3 overs, driven by an unbeaten 34 from Yengkhom Bhomendro and useful contributions from Subhas Khundrakpam (26), Azmad Kh (25 not out), Khundrakpam Lemba (18), and Nelson Keithellakpam (13) .
Y WC's bowlers Laikhuram Jagat (3 wickets), Johnson Lai (2 wickets), and Tongbram Dona doni (1 wicket) managed breakthroughs but could not prevent IBSA from achieving their target.
