Imphal East crowned overall team champions of State Level Boxing Championships 2025

Imphal, July 27 2025:
Imphal East were crowned overall team champions of the State Level Boxing Championships 2025 organised by the Manipur Amateur Boxing Association at Boxing Arena, Khuman Lampak.
Imphal East boxers amassed 80 points off 13 gold, 11 silver and 5 bronze medals to emerge on top of the medal tally featuring 10 district teams as Imphal West boxers followed with 59 points off 13 gold, 6 silver and 4 bronze medals to settle for the runners up title.
Kakching team in the meantime finished second runners up on 30 points off 5 gold, 5 silver and 10 bronze medals.
The last day of the championships saw Ahongshangbam Kajal of Imphal West thump Huidrom Griviya of Imphal East 4-1 via split decision to seal the 54 kg category title.
Elangbam Thoithoi of Kakching in the meantime clinched the 51 kg category title beating Khumanthem Sarju of Imphal West 5-0 via unanimous decision as Yumnam Venika of Bishnupur edged Thoubal's Huidrom Karuna 3-2 via split decision for the 48 kg crown.
Nongthombam Luxmi of Bishnupur in the meantime sealed die 60 kg category title for U-19 girls as she beat Sharungbam Menaka of Imphal East 3-2 via split decision while Leimapokpam Sanjana of Imphal West notched up the U-19 girls' 57 kg category title with an overwhelming 5-0 win against Loitongbam Alia of Bishnupur in the final.
Individual achievers
Maria Pame of Tamenglong (U-17 girls' 52 kg) and Chingrihor Shatshang of Ukhrul (U-19 boys' 50 kg) were adjudged most promising boxers of the championships as Moirangthem Khrismira of Imphal West (U-17 girls' 46 kg) and Konjengbam Roshan of Imphal West (Elite men's 60 kg) were declared best boxers.
Laishram Taniya of Imphal East (U-17 girls' 46 kg) and M Renson of Kakching (U-17 boys' 46 kg) were in the meantime named as best challenging boxers in the championships as Longjam Radhamani of Imphal West (U-17 girls' 57 kg) was named as the best performer.
