Imphal, March 27 2022: RULE, Malom rode on an exemplary all round performance of Jay Singh Haorokcham to post sixth straight victory in the Group B league competition of the ongoing 1st MNCA Super Plate Tournament at Model Hr Secondary and Oriental College ground today.

The win also meant that RULE sit atop Group B with 12 points from 6 out matches and qualify for the semis with a game to spare.

Having beaten TCMDC for the fifth win on the trot, RULE won the toss and let ESU, Wangkhei to bat first in the match which was curtailed to 25 overs an innings.

Taking advantage of notable bowler like Thokchom Kishan Singh and in form Jay Singh Haorokcham, RULE exerted a strong pressure on the Wangkhei side but the latter withstood the pressure despite the upper order collapse to post a total of 117 runs for 8 wickets.

ESU were reduced to 21 for 3 within 4.4 overs as Nongthombam Sarojkumar removed Hanjabam Joykishan on 1 before Thokchom Kishan Singh dismissed Yumkhaibam Balajit on 4-ball duck and M Bimananda on 6 .

Thokchom Kishan completed his three wicket haul (3/16 in 4 overs) dismissing Oliver on 10 to restrict ESU to 32-4 in the 7th over.

RULE's Sanjenbam Ananda Singh then sent Chitaranjan Sharma of ESU packing on 18-ball 13 and Jay Singh spun web around three batters to finish with bowling figures 3/13 in 5 overs.

Oinam Motilal returned the highest run getter for ESU with an unbeaten 23 off 25 balls followed by Hemchand Yumkham (19) and Keithellakpam Poirei Federick (18) in this innings.

In reply, RULE lost two wickets early, but Jay Singh Haorokcham added 25 to provide initial flourish.

Sanjenbam Somokanta (15) and Thokchom Kishan (13) to played their part before Rajkumar Herachandra (23 not out) and Nongthombam Sarojkumar (21 not out) steered RULE to winning 118 within 23.3 overs with 5 wickets left in the hand.

Jay Singh of RULE who clinched three wickets and topscored with 25, was eventually named man of the match.

Elsewhere at Luwangpok-pa Cricket Stadium, MPSC registered third win of the tourney in four matches by crushing YUCC, Kwakeithel Moirangpurel by 9 wickets.

After winning the toss, YUCC stacked up a meagre total of 105 for 7 in allotted 25 overs but MPSC cruised to the target within 17 overs at the cost of only one wicket in the chase.

Kadamjit Moirangthem (32) made the most of the run for the Kwakeithel team in their innings which saw Indraban S Koijam (2/15 in 5 overs) and Maibam Bijoykumar (3/14) of MPSC ripping through their batting line up by sending off their rivals in regular intervals.

Oinam Rojit and Sarangthem Shangker of MPSC also managed a wicket each to add teeth to the bowling attack and help inhibit YUCC from posting a big total.

In the chase, MPSC lost only Sagolshem Sunil (26) to Kadamjit Moirangthem before Gelson Singh Thoudam (32) and Potsangbam Bonem Singh (30) seal the deal within 17 overs.

Maibam Bijoykumar of MPSC who enjoyed a three wicket haul was adjudged man of the match.
