District-level Subroto Mukherjee Football UM Academy win U-14, Afros A U-17 in Imphal East

Imphal, June 20 2017: Unique Model Academy claimed the championship title of the under-14 category while Afros A Higher Secondary School emerged as the under-17 champion of the Imphal East Subroto Mukherjee Football Tournament, which is organised under the aegis of the Imphal East District Youth Affairs and Sports Office at the Khuman Lampak Main Stadium.

In the under-14 category, Unique Model Academy defeated Covenant English School by 3�0 thanks to a beautiful hat trick from Sanamacha, who scored in the 7th, 26th and 42nd minutes of the match.

The under-17 winner, Afros A Academy won a hard-fought match against Yorbung High School by a margin of 1�0 .

Azaruddin score the sole goal in the 31st minute into the first half.

With this win, Afros has now got the golden chance to represent Imphal East in the state-level edition of the tournament.

Meanwhile, with all the under-14 quarter-final mat-ches over, the semi-final lineup has been completed for the Bishnupur Subroto Mukherjee Football Tournament, which is currently underway at the Mini Stadium of the district.
