Manipur trounce Mizoram 6-2 in men's hockey final

Manipur men's hockey team defeated Mizoram in the hockey final match of the National Level North East Games, organised by Department of Youth Affairs and Sports, today.
Hockey : In the men's final today, Manipur registered a comfortable 6-2 win against Mizoram to lift the title.
For the third place title match, Assam outclassed Tripura by a margin of 11 goals to nil.
In the last league match of women's group today, Manipur handed a crushing 16-0 defeat to Assam.
Judo : In the men's 73 kg judo event, HC Lalchung (Mizoram) clinched gold while the silver medal to Vikshadhan Debbarma (Tripura).
The third place title was jointly clinched by Kato Nsadong (Arunachal) and L Meino (Manipur).

Jonathan Lalrinsanga (Mizoram) won gold in the 90 kg event while Kh Basanta (Manipur) and J Shrikant (Meghalaya) settled for silver and bronze medal respectively.
In the 81 kg group, Kh Ajit (Manipur) secured the first place while Nabir Hossein (Tripura) bagged the silver medal.
Vanlal Rinzuala (Mizoram) and Gukpreet Singh (Meghalaya) jointly bagged the third place title.
In the women' group, R Vanrammawii (Mizoram) and L Rubina (Manipur) grabbed gold and silver medals respectively in the 57 kg group event while Mousumi (Tripura) and Mikael Natung (Arunachal) jointly won the third place title.
Athletics : In the men's 400 m race, Habibi Mia (Tripura) stood at the first position while N Konungjao Meitei (Manipur) and Shakim Hossain (Tripura) secured second and third positions respectively.
In the women's 400 m race, Madhumila Dele (Tripura) claimed the first position while Fatema Begam (Tripura) and Tsuzen (Nagaland) finished on second and third positions respectively.
In the men's long jump, K Romeshchandra (Manipur), Jiten Debbarma (Tripura), Mhonsao Ngu (Nagaland) won first, second and third positions respectively.
Tripura emerged champions in the men's 4X100 meter relay.
Manipur and Nagaland finished stood second and third place respectively.
In the women's 4X100 m relay, Tripura, Manipur and Nagaland won gold, silver and bronze medal respectively.
Football : In the women's first semifinal match, Manipur trounced Meghalaya by a margin of 7 goals to one.
In another match, Nagaland defeated Tripura by a lone goal.
In the men's group, Nagaland edged out Manipur 3-2 in the first semifinal match while in another semifinal match Mizoram registered a comfortable 3-1 win over Tripura.
Weightlifting : Yukar Thichak (Arunachal) topped in the men's 62 kg event while Thinchai Wangsu (Arunachal), L Paikhomba (Manipur), Dipakar Borsaika (Assam) went for third and fourth place titles respectively.
In the men's 62 kg group, L Sunderjit Singh (Manipur), Langpu Roman (Arunachal), Kausik Baruah (Assam) and Tahidul Rehman (Tripura) stood at first, second, third and fourth place respectively.
In the men's 77 kg event, Kojum Taba (Arunachal), A Arjun Singh (Manipur), Pabir Negi (Assam) and Gulap Gogoi (Assam) respectively clinched first, second, third and fourth place titles.
In the women's group, K Roshilata Devi (Manipur), Rompi Saika (Assam), Minu Moriju (Arunachal) and Kajal Das (Tripura) bagged first, second, third and fourth titles respectively.
