Nimaichand Luwang to contest 2017 Assembly election from Andro AC

IMPHAL, Mar 5:
Veteran politician, Dr Nimaichand Luwang,
who earlier contested from Wangkhem Assembly Constituency,
will now contest the coming Assembly election from Andro As-
sembly Constituency.
Announcing this during a press meet at Manipur Press
Club today, president of Upliftment Committee, Andro
Kendra, Md Phakrauddin said, Dr Nimaichand Luwang was
born and brought up at Yambem of Andro.
He had contested seven State Assembly elections and won
five times from Wangkhem A/C.
Following a meeting held on March 2 with Dr Nimaichand
Luwang and the committee, locals have been persuading him
to contest from of Andro A/C.He added that the committee
will launch election campaign for Dr Nimaichand from March
16 for the upcoming 2017 general election.
He stated that the locals of Andro A/C are ready to support
Dr Nimaichand Luwang.
Upliftment Committee, Andro Kendra is formed by mem-
bers from all 44 polling stations of Andro A/C.
It may be mentioned that Dr Nimaichand Luwang had
earlier served in RIMS and is now serving as Head of De-
partment for Community Medicine, Tripura Government
Medical College.
Dr Nimaichand Luwang had contested from Wangkhem A/
C on MPP ticket in the 2012 Assembly election.
He was
defeated by Congress (I) candidate K Meghachandra and is
now member of the BJP Manipur Pradesh.
