School webcasts classroom activities live

In an encouraging move wherein technology has been used towards bringing quality education and enhancing coordination between the school authority and parents, a private school at Mongshangei in Imphal West district has started webcasting live streams of classroom activities to parents through the internet.
The project entitled, 'Access to direct classroom activ- ities through internet' has been launched at Trinity Public School, Mongshangei today.
Principal L Inaotombi said that parents are usually worried about their wards while they are in the school.
Considering all these worries, the school has started webcasting live videos of classrooms to the parents.
Now they can directly access what are going on inside the classrooms on their mobile phones, she said.
The parents can also monitor the conduct of the teachers and school authority through this project which is probably the first of its kind in the State, the Principal said.
Informing about the encouraging systems of the school, the Principal said that there is no chair for teachers inside the classrooms and the school authority is planning to introduce a pension scheme for the teachers.
The teachers of the school are always advised to render their best service towards bringing a good and responsible society, Inaotombi maitained.
All Manipur Working Journalists' Union (AMWJU) president Wangkhemcha Shamjai and retired Deputy Inspector (DI) of Schools, S Gyaneshor were also present at the launching function of the project .
