Imphal, July 14 2010: To begin work on Tipaimukh Multipurpose Power Project, which would have a generating capacity of 1500 megawatt of power, construction of the approach road is slated to start from September.

This was decided during a review meeting presided by Chief Secretary DS Poonia today.

Attended by Principal Secretary (Power) and officials of NHPC and Sutlej Jhal Vidyut Ningam, the meeting also discussed matters related to necessary survey, soil testing and drilling.
