Medical Council of India (MCI) has today provided the Letter of Permission (LOP) for starting the maiden session of the 100-seat capacity Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) from August this year.
Informing this while talking to The Sangai Express, Health Minister Ph Parijat said that the LPO has been handed over, following an undertaking signed between the State Govt and MCI.
Earlier, the letter of indent had been provided.
The condition laid down by MCI that the State Government should earmark adequate fund in the budget until completion of full-fledged infrastructural development of JNIMS has already been fulfilled by the State Government, the Minister said.
Parijat, however, disclosed that out of the 100 seats, how many seats should be reserved as Central Pool is yet to be confirmed.
