Imphal, April 24: Highlighting the difficulties being faced by disabled persons in different districts of Manipur to come to JN Hospital, Imphal which is the only authorised hospital in the State to examine and issue disability certificates, the All Tribal Physically Handicapped Association (ATPHA) has appealed to the Minister of Health and Family Welfare to depute medical specialists in all the hill district headquarters so that disability certificates can be issued to all the physically handicapped persons of the hill districts.

A memorandum submitted to the Health and Family Welfare Minister, ATPHA stated that due to non-issuance of disability certificates, a large number of disabled persons have been denied several benefits entitled to them.
