Imphal, July 14 2010: Troops of 23 Assam Rifles of 10 Sector and 39 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector under HQ IGAR(South) launched a joint operation at Lamlai market resulting in apprehension of two KCP (MC, L Khuman group) around 5.30 am today.

A press release issued by PRO, IG AR (S) stated that the arrested persons have been identified as Amarjeet @ Daya (20) of Lamlai Makha Leikai and Khaidam @ Shashikant (32) of the same locality.

One Chinese handgrenade, five live rounds of Semi rifle, one live round of Chinese CM and 15 fired case of Chinese CM were recovered from the arrested cadres.

Later they were handed over to Lamlai Police Station, the press release added.
